Pharmacovigilance (Level 1)

Pharmacovigilance is often considered to be an area of specialization not adequately covered in undergraduate curricula for the purpose of specific duties and competencies as needed by regulators. SAHPRA therefore commissioned this Short Learning Programme to capacitate its staff on the vigilance role specific duties and competencies as describe in the SAHPRA Competency framework. Participants learnt about the following major topics: safety data collection & analysis, and benefit-risk management.

The training comprised of class room teaching by subject matter experts who also supplied training materials e.g. slides, worksheets and case studies.
