The US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) solicited public comments on the draft revision of USP General Chapter <1761> Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy-Theory and Practice published on USP-PF on July 1, 2022. NMR technology follows basic physical principles (such as quantum mechanics). These fundamental principles are crucial for setting NMR instrument parameters, data collection and processing, and the accuracy of the final reported values. In this webinar, Dr. Christina Szabo, a member of the USP Expert panel, and Dr. Jay Ray, chair of the USP expert Panel, presented the revisions of the updated USP General Chapter <1761> to help the stakeholders to better understand and apply quantitative NMR principles from the perspective of pharmaceutical analysts in the laboratory setting.
